ChariTree Foundation Urges Global Climate Action for Children Ahead of UN’s SB60 Dialogue

The climate crisis is a child’s rights crisis so who is looking out for kids?
Environmental education is the key to safeguarding children and youth from future impacts of climate change

The ChariTree Foundation actively participates in key environmental conversations, advocacy campaigns, and national strategies to promote children’s rights, climate and biodiversity education opportunities.

  • SB60 Input: Expert Dialogue on Children and Climate Change
The ChariTree Foundation submitted a statement to the SB60 UNFCCC Expert Dialogue on Children and Climate Change, emphasizing that the climate crisis is fundamentally a child’s rights crisis. Our input called on governments and climate negotiators to prioritize children in climate decision-making, policy development, and funding allocations. We advocated for robust integration of child rights across climate frameworks and urged countries to ensure access to environmental education and child participation at every level of climate governance. The submission also highlighted the critical need for protection measures for children facing compounding climate-related harms—such as displacement, food insecurity, and health crises—while emphasizing children’s resilience and role as solution-builders. The Foundation called for climate financing mechanisms to directly support youth-led and child-centered climate initiatives and insisted that young people’s voices be elevated in both national and global climate dialogues. Children must not be left out of decisions that directly shape their future.
