Make a Wish for the Planet is an inspiring activity that encourages children and youth to reflect on their hopes for the planet and express their vision for a better future.
Participants can write or draw their wishes for the world—whether it’s a cleaner environment, kindness between people, protecting wildlife, or solutions to climate change—on biodegradable paper or decorative wish cards. These wishes can be displayed on a “wish tree,” shared in a group discussion, or incorporated into a community art project. This activity fosters creativity, empathy, and a sense of global responsibility, empowering young minds to believe in their ability to create positive change. (wish4theplanet.com)
This is a fun activity to do with your parents and teachers. The ChariTree Foundation will post your TREEmendous wishes. Ask your parents or teachers to email your Wish Tree drawings and paintings to info@chariTree-foundation.org and we will post them here.
After you plant your Wish Tree your parent or teacher can enter your Wish for the World here to send it out to the world. (You can see wishes from other children below.)
If your students want to learn about trees, there’s no better way than planting Wish Trees. The idea, inspired by the children’s book The Wish Trees: How Planting Trees Can Help Make the World a Better Place, encourages kids to plant a local tree seedling and then make a wish for the world. Then, each time they return to visit and/or care for their tree they can make more wishes! Trees do so many tree-mendous things and planting a tree provides an excellent opportunity to encourage little ones to take pride in their contribution and take part in the world around them.
