The ChariTree Foundation Announces Upcoming Children’s Book by Founder Andrea Koehle Jones

Meet Ned, the enthusiastic puppy whose tree-planting misadventures will have kids laughing and learning.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Vancouver, BC — 27/11/2025 The ChariTree Foundation is delighted to share that a new children’s book, Don’t Let Ned Plant a Tree THERE! Written by ChariTree founder, Andrea Koehle Jones, was acquired by a Canadian publisher in June 2025 and is set for publication in Spring 2026. This joyful picture book marks an exciting new chapter for the foundation’s mission to inspire and empower children through stories rooted in nature, kindness, and environmental imagination.

DON’T LET NED PLANT A TREE THERE! is a lively, interactive picture book starring Ned, an irresistibly enthusiastic puppy with enormous tree-planting ambitions. The challenge? Ned keeps planting trees in all the wrong places.

With teamwork, guidance from his forest friends, and a little help from young readers, Ned finally discovers the perfect spot to plant a special tree. Playful, imaginative, and laugh-out-loud fun, the book invites children to shout, predict, laugh, and learn as Ned’s adventure unfolds.

This meta picture book encourages kids to guide Ned along the way, teaching him where to plant trees and, just as importantly, where not to plant them.

“I wanted to write a fun story that helps children feel empowered — that even small hands (and big muddy puppy paws) can make a big difference. Ned may make a few hilarious mistakes, but his heart is always in the right place. Like so many kids who care deeply about our planet, Ned learns along the way.” — Andrea Koehle Jones, children’s author

Andrea is also the author of The Wish Trees: How Planting Trees Can Help Make the World a Better Place
